Jump on Board! Why South Florida Votes for Boating as the Best Family Activity

Most people think South Florida is just Miami and the beaches: the party city, the tourism hot spot. But it’s also a great place to raise a family. Visiting South Florida’s boating scene is one of the resident’s favorite activities. But people aren’t always hopping on board to go fishing, sometimes they just want to enjoy the wind in their hair and the sun on their faces. Often, Floridian parents choose to try out boating because they are looking for a tranquil place to spend quality time with their children. They want to get away from the TV, the mall, and all the city mayhem. That’s why boating has quickly become a family favorite and an important part of the Miami lifestyle.

If you are still hesitant about living South Florida’s boating experience as a family activity, we are going to do our best to convince you! Here are 3 great reasons why you should jump on board!

  1. Quality family fun. Boating offers families the opportunity to explore a large array of activities. Maybe your kids want something exciting, that will send a rush of adrenaline through their bodies like jet-skiing, find all the gear and let the fun begin. Or perhaps your children are more into photography and would love to simply sit on the bow watching the sunset and take incredible pictures. Recreational boating promises to please every member of the family. The most important part is that you will all be there together. Without a TV in the middle, you will be surprised how fast you can improve your family bond.
  2. Staycation. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to refresh your minds and bodies with a quick getaway. Once you own a boat you can simply get out on the water and set your sails towards the nearest key. See them all! Money is no longer an excuse not to vacation when you have invested wisely in a boat for your family. It doesn’t have to be a luxury boat! There are great, affordable options out there. And if you’re not ready to buy one, you can rent one!
  3. Keep your children close, and your children’s friends closer. Got a teenager? Your kids’ worlds revolve around their friendships. Responsible parenting means making sure they cultivate healthy relationships, but no one wants an over-protective mom or and over-controlling dad. Sure you could keep driving them to soccer and leaving them at the mall, or decide to send them to the movies on their own so they will think you’re awesome. But how much will you learn about who they are, what they like, and who they want to become if you don’t engage with them? If you invite your children’s best friends on board with you, you get the chance to supervise all the fun while still being cool moms & dads.

Sounds like a win/win situation, right?

So, happy boating! We know your family is gonna love it!
